Santa Traditions

I have talked to many people over the years and it is interested to learn the process of how Santa works at their house - leaving one gift from Santa and the rest from the family - everything unwrapped - nothing wrapped.

At our house, the kids exchange something small from each other on Christmas Eve. My hubby and I always buy the kids new PJ's from their favorite store to wear on Christmas Eve. This was a tradition my parents started when I was a kid. This year they are getting Pj's from American Girl, Aeropostale and Abercrombie. When Santa arrives, he has many gifts wrapped in special paper and special bows. Each of my kids have one BIG item they ask Santa to bring. He leaves it unwrapped for them to see as soon as they arrive in the living room Christmas morning - hopefully after 6:00 a.m.

What are your traditions? Can't wait to read them all!!

We have wrapped presents for the whole family under the tree. Santa brings presents that are unwrapped and he displays them according to each child. They oooh and ahh over Santa gifts then they dig into the wrapped gifts.

We have wrapped gifts under the tree from family that sends them, and from us, and some of our kids now give to each other from the santa workshop etc.

On Christmas Eve, we all get to open 1 gift... the kids are distracted all day thinking about which gift they are going to choose... it's fun to watch them during dinner, as they have to wait til dinner is DONE to open one.

When we put up our tree, our children always pick out a spot that is 'theirs'. When Santa comes, he sets out UNwrapped toys on each childs 'spot'....
Then, someone gets to start handing out the unwrapped gifts, after the kids are done..ooohhing and aaaahing....

Did Santa bring the Mannequin, and how did that go ??
